Dinner and a Movie

TBS partnered with MAMMAL to reimagine Dinner and a Movie as a fully immersive creative concept: Dinner As A Movie. The premise: steal the DNA of classic film tropes and recast them with food. Ingredients become cinematic heroes, meals become genre moments, and every bite lands with a punchline.

Inspired by comedy, superhero, monster, and blockbuster action genres, we explored how iconic film tropes could be reimagined through outrageous food characters, delivered as short, punchy in-and-out-of-programming moments with a distinctly Dinner & A Movie feel.

3D elements, photography, texture, and illustration combine into a lively layered collage, playful and tactile, celebrating the joyful imperfection of "homemade" charm. Exaggerated proportions and surreal juxtapositions push each genre world into something genuinely absurd, with music and sound design hitting every trope-laden beat.

Creature Features

In a world where the sourdough breathes… because yeast.Where something inside the gelatin watches back. No one knows what it is… and no one dares to ask. A submarine drifts too close… and awakens a calamari kraken. Some things shouldn’t be stirred.

High-Octane Blockbusters

In a world where takeout boxes tick… and time is running out. One sundae risks everything for the cherry on top. Explosions at every turn. Flames on the grill. And in the middle of it all… one shrimp stays perfectly chill. This isn’t dinner. This is hibachi.

Comic Relief

In a world where pineapple meets pizza… and love gets complicated. Where one banana races for glory… only to fall to fate. Classic banana. Love, loss, and produce. Timeless stories with  expiration dates.

Heroic Heroes

In a world on the brink… a hot pepper faces off with a frozen rival. A beer can chicken rises… armored and ready. The odds are impossible. The stakes? Everything. And when the battle is over…
these heroes won’t just be remembered. They’ll be devoured.

Snack Facts

Fun-fact bumpers, trivia cards, and social posts built from a single, easily-updatable toolkit. Elements from the bumpers and the opening sequence combine into a modular system, so Snack Facts can rotate without ever going stale.
